In 1556, Doña Isabel de Osorio, 'the Lady of Saldañuela' acquired the property and built the greater part of the palace that is standing today.
It is a two-storey building with an inner courtyard and is built in the style of architecture prevalent in 16th-century Burgos. It has three porched sides and a fountain on the fourth side. The main façade has two floors and a porched gallery.
