It is located both under San Martin de Torres’ town and surrounding areas which proves the continuity of its population from the first millennium BC to our days.

It is worth standing out the findings made in the Cerro de las Motas, in which adobe blocks from Iron Age, quartzite walls and a possible cistern from the Roman period have been found.

From the Middle Ages, it is worth mentioning the existence of a monastery and the promenade through the town of Cañada Real de la Bañeza, which can be easily identifiable with the old Roman road.
