Museum of Burgos
Created in order to conserve Burgos’ art and culture, it houses various collections providing an insight into the historical and cultural evolution of the city of Burgos and its province.
The exhibits in the Prehistoric and Archaeological Collection represent an outstanding testimony to the province’s colourful past, ranging from the Palaeolithic remains discovered at Atapuerca to the Roman remains of the city of Clunia. In addition, the Fine Arts section houses a rich collection including Mozarabic works of art, as well as paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries (by artists such as Berruguete, Picardo, etc.), and works from the Baroque period and the 19th and 20th centuries.
In short, an absolute must for visitors wishing to discover the art and history of the city and province of Burgos.
