In 1949, the World Speed ​​Championship was born . At that time, there were no permanent circuits in Spain and very few in the world . In towns and cities throughout Spain , races began to be organised . This is what happened in La Bañeza (Leon) , where the humility of its people and the rural reality of the place did not prevent the people of La Bañeza from dreaming of having their own speed circuit . Shortly after the date of that first world championship, they managed to make it a reality. They set it up in their streets . The first edition of the Bañezano Motorbike Circuit took place in 1952 and has continued until today. Today, yes, today. Today, when there are permanent circuits in the world even in the middle of a desert, the people of La Bañeza continue to hold their races in the streets of their "town". A true miracle that is still alive today and is repeated every year.
