In the center of the Valley of Mena, Medianas is located, and is there where stands the tower that belonged to the Ortiz de Velasco, dated in the XV century, and whose Western side is three centuries later. Of square floor, its access is through a semicircular arch.

We can see framed windows and loopholes in its curtain walls, the brackets of an old balcony, near to the remains of the family shields. Fortress of great splendour in the past centuries, not for nothing it was described as house and high tower, with three windows and on each one of them a coat of arms. These details allow us to imagine what was seen by those who saw it in its best.
