The Duero flows into the Valle del Cuco and enters Valdearcos de la Vega, the first enclave of Valladolid that the great river crosses. It is a town with stone buildings that has an interesting Renaissance column in the middle of the Plaza Mayor.
The Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion particularly stands out, with its 15th century semicircular, triumphal arch and the Ermita de la Virgen de la Zarzuela y del Santo Cristo, both made of stone.
