The procession has its origins in the public celebrations of the Eucharist, but it passes over the acts of liturgy to go straight to other, more profane forms of celebration, where spectacles and dancing are made a part of the religious festival. An entourage of men dressed up in petticoats perform traditional dances through the streets of Laguna.
