The Citba, Interpretation Center of the Tierras Bañezanas, inaugurated in January 2011, is located inside a large building, in a modernist style, built at the beginning of the 20th century to be a hotel but which, however, It ended up being a flour factory that remained in operation from 1926 to 1996.

The building that houses the old restored flour factory and La Bañeza Interpretation Center is also the headquarters of the Municipal Tourism Office.


The Citba, Museum of La Bañeza invites us on a journey through the history of this town and its region, from the early times of Asturias and the Romans, to the medieval flourishing of its important weekly market and daily life in the most recent centuries. in which agriculture, livestock and the artisan trades of pottery, linen weaving, tanning leather, grinding grains or making bread and sweets were the main activities of the Bañezanos.
