Upon entering the church of Santa María de La Bañeza, no one can imagine the wooden treasure that is hidden behind the vault of its central nave. But the need to support the weight of the roofs and form slopes to evacuate the waters meant that roof reinforcements continued to be used, either through simple models of new construction or by reusing old ones whose decorative richness would from then on be hidden behind the plaster. .
