Church of Santo Tomas Cantuariense
Romanesque church, with three naves, built in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 16th and 18th centuries.
Its interior stands out for its rich altarpiece, a work from the 16th century, considered by many in the province of Zamora with paintings by Lorenzo de Ávila and sculpture by Jacques Bernal. Fragmented into five streets, highlighting the central one, and the episodes that are reflected in it. Altarpiece dedicated to the life of Jesus Christ, except for the scenes in which the protagonist is the Virgin Mary. An iconographic discourse loaded with color that is undoubtedly rich and beautiful to behold, an altarpiece with the presence of inscriptions, something unusual.
Next to the altarpiece, on the sides, we find twelve Renaissance oils, also conserving two 10th-century marble columns from the first Mozarabic repopulation of Toro, in the time of Alfonso III.
