By studying the succesive restorations, one may trace the architectural evolution of the building. The 12th-century romanesque apse-end and the first section of the naves, also romanesque, have been preserved. It is the oldest church in Almazán. It was closed down during the Civil War and then it was used as a barn and gradually deteriorated until part of it crumbled down. It was rebuilt in 1990.

The simple front consists of four plain archivolts resting on small shafts with poorly decorated capitals. The bare walls contain fragments of the original paintings that once graced the church interior.

Two chapels have been preserved: one from the 16th century, with a Gothic barrel vault, and the other from the 18th, devoted to the Santo Cristo de Burgos.
