Church of Our Lady of the Pilar
The Church of Our Lady of Pilar of Valladolid is located in the new working-class neighborhood of La Pilarica that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century on the outskirts of the city of Valladolid, to house the numerous immigrants looking for work in the incipient Valladolid industry. .
The Church of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, better known as the Church of La Pilarica, is built at the request of Mr. Rafael Cano Rodríguez-Cairo, Professor of Law at the University of Valladolid, and his wife Tadea de Prado y Beltrán, in memory of his recently deceased daughter Pilar, according to a project by the then municipal architect Juan Agapito y Revilla. The church consecrated and inaugurated on October 12, 1907, in neo-Gothic style as a private chapel, was not a parish until 1968.
