Castles of the La Moraña region
- Position
- Avila province
The region of La Moraña is a land of infinite horizons and a turbulent past, of exoduses and repopulations depending on who had control of the territory. From that uncertain time, a good example of military architecture in the form of castles has survived to this day. Following in its wake you can trace a suggestive route at any time of the year and live the experience of getting to know some of the places described in the pages of history.
With an artillery typology, it is striking that they are mostly built in brick, which gives them greater resistance to sieges, due to their greater capacity to absorb cannon impacts, while at the same time showing an aesthetic inspired by Mudejar architecture.
