Ribas de Campos treasures the Canal's most precious gem. The triple sluice, made up of the 22nd, 23rd and 24th sluice, meets the river Carrión at this point. This is probably one of the Canal's most symbolic points as work began on the canal here on the 16th July 1753. Today, a monument along with the windmill and the hydroelectric power station, commemorate this date.

Following the course of the water as it passes by the village, the well-preserved Calahorra retention is situated 3km away. A further 2 km will take tourists to the Valdemudo bridge in Valdehumo. This was one of the first bridges to be constructed.

The Monasterio de Santa Cruz de la Zarza or sometimes known as the Monasterio de Ribas was built between the 13th and 16th century. The monastery, studded with multiform capitals decorated with acanthus leaves, animals and icons, is considered one of the gems of Romanesque architecture in Palencia.
