6km from Capillas, the village of Castil de Vela and the 3rd sluice along the Ramal de Campos, are situated. In this little village the ruins of an ancient castle and the 17th century Iglesia Parroquial de San Miguel can be found. 4 aqueducts were constructed in this village for the purpose of the Canal, 3 of which are sewer aqueducts and the other a modern construction.
On leaving the village, where the 4th sluice may be found, tourists can see the old Canal warehouses which have remained. On the way to Belmonte, where the fifth sluice is situated, the ruins of the lock-keepers hut can be found.
