On Santa María Street, the leisurely flow of the Camino de Santiago as it crosses the town of Cacabelos is our companion. Amidst the stories of pilgrims and historic buildings, stands an 18th-century manor house with spacious rooms and high ceilings. Its foundations have long been steeped in the art of winemaking, and its floors have been stained thousands of times with the must of the Mencía grape.
Soon, the stables give way to the cellars, and the old concrete tanks serve as aging rooms. The old and the new combine perfectly, resulting in a good result. The spirit that had been lost is once again present. The smell of wine is already there. There's nothing like feeling at home.
The care and commitment to producing 100% Mencía wines from vines over 80 years old are demonstrated in the attention we give to our visitors. Care, commitment, and hospitality are our hallmarks.
The daily guided tours we offer at our winery, from Tuesday to Saturday, consist of a tour of the 18th-century building that houses the winery and a subsequent visit to the production areas. Wine tourists will learn firsthand about our wines and their production process, as well as the characteristics of the Bierzo designation of origin. We conclude with a guided tasting of our Mencías.
