Get to know one of the masterpieces of Gothic architecture and the most emblematic monument of the city of Burgos. The slender Cathedral of Santa María in the Castilian city has been astonishing residents, pilgrims and tourists for 800 years. Its characteristic towers, which rise up to touch the sky, its prodigious dome with its starry vault, its beautiful chapels, its spectacular choir, the Golden Staircase that became so famous that it served as a model for the grandiose staircase of the Paris Opera and the great jewels of sacred art that are kept within its walls have earned it the declaration as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Visit this landmark of the Camino de Santiago, built in the likeness of the great French chapels of Notre-Dame and Reims, with the participation of the best architects and sculptors from various periods. An extraordinary temple from the spiers of its façade to its more than 18 chapels, among which the Contestable chapel stands out, considered a cathedral in itself, and the Santa Tecla chapel, a baroque jewel signed by the great Alberto Churriguera.
