Founded by the Jesuits in 1598, the New Cathedral of Coimbra has a façade built in two phases: the first in classical style and the second baroque. The altarpiece in the main chapel is made with gilded wood carvings from the late 17th century by Jerónimo Luís, who was also the author of the altarpieces in the transept. The black wooden armchair from the 17th century, from the Old Cathedral. Neoclassical organs from the 18th century. Manueline baptismal font, from the old cathedral.
