Leiria Cathedral
Construction of the cathedral began in 1550 and it was consecrated in 1574. This cathedral is the first major work of the late Renaissance in the city and was built by the architect Afonso Álvares. In its architectural conception, the Mannerist and Baroque style stands out, and its magnificence, assimilates this temple to the typology of hall churches.
