ORDER CYT/531/2023, of April 20, which establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies to finance actions aimed at promoting the quality of the tourism sector in Castile and León.
EXTRACT from the Order of May 19, 2023, of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sports, which calls for subsidies to finance actions aimed at promoting the quality of the Tourism Sector of Castile and León.
The following may obtain the status of beneficiaries of the subsidies regulated in this order:
- Tourism companies established in the Community of Castile and León, whether natural or legal persons, who are owners of tourist accommodation and/or restaurant establishments, owners of travel agencies or owners of active tourism activity companies, always that the establishment, travel agency or active tourism company for which they request the subsidy is registered in the Tourism Registry of Castile and León, at least twelve months prior to the date of publication in the Official Gazette of Castile and León of the extract of the corresponding call.
- Groups of tourism companies, whether they are private natural or legal persons or any other type of economic unit or separate assets that, although lacking legal personality, can carry out the projects, activities or behaviors or are in the situation that motivates the granting of the subsidy, of which at least one is established in the Community of Castile and León. In these cases, each member of the group will also be considered a beneficiary. However, a representative with sufficient powers must be appointed to fulfill the obligations that, as beneficiary, correspond to the group.
- The communities of property provided that they can carry out the actions provided for in this order and in the corresponding call and are in the situation that motivates the granting of the subsidy, when at least one of the members is established in the Community of Castile and León.
Eligible activities
The actions for which the subsidies regulated in this order can be requested are the following:
a) For tourist accommodation and restaurant establishments.
The following will be eligible:
- Reforms and actions aimed at guaranteeing accessibility for people with reduced mobility, or with any other physical, mental or sensory limitation.
- Effective improvement and renovation of food hygiene facilities and machinery and hygienic-sanitary elements. CV: BOCYL-D-28042023-17 Official Gazette of Castile and León No. 81 Friday, April 28, 2023 Page 56
- Implementation or adaptation of environmental improvement facilities for the establishment and/or security, such as the implementation of energy and water saving systems, waste purification or recycling systems, noise or light pollution reduction systems and security systems or firefighting.
- Implementation and obtaining of the Q mark for Spanish Tourist Quality, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Universal Accessibility Certification or any other quality system expressly recognized by the Community of Castile and León, certified through UNE standards or recognized by the European Union.
- Maintenance of quality management system certificates and tourism quality brands specified in the previous paragraph.
- Implementation of technologies and organizational systems related to the improvement of management systems.
- Actions aimed at improving management and marketing in tourist accommodation establishments.
- The adaptation of the establishment for the use of family tourism.
- Other renovations and acquisitions of equipment intended to increase the category of the establishment or substantially improve its quality not included in the previous points.
b) For active tourism companies. The following will be eligible:
- Implementation of technologies and organizational systems related to the improvement of management systems.
- Actions aimed at improving marketing.
- Actions aimed at guaranteeing accessibility for people with reduced mobility, or with any other physical, mental or sensory limitation.
- The acquisition or renewal of material for the practice of active tourism activities, such as bicycles, canoes, boats, golf equipment, hiking equipment, etc.
c) For travel agencies. The following will be eligible:
- Implementation and obtaining of the Q mark for Spanish Tourism Quality, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Universal Accessibility Certification or any other quality system expressly recognized by the Community of Castile and León, certified through UNE standards or recognized by the European Union.
- Maintenance of quality management system certificates and tourism quality brands specified in the previous paragraph.

- Development of ICT in the management, promotion and marketing of tourism offers.
- Promotion of new tourist products in Castile and León.
The actions provided for in this article may not be subsidized when those same actions have been subsidized in the same tourist accommodation or restaurant establishment; active tourism company and travel agency, under one of the two immediately previous calls.
A single application will be submitted for each applicant, which will include a single eligible action.
