This new line of subsidies is intended to support business initiatives of tourist relevance in the Community, understood as those actions that, due to their attractiveness, can significantly increase the number of travelers in a specific destination, with special incidence in those with a deficit of primary supply or complementary supply.
For the first time, tourism projects focused on the creation of destinations will be financed. The projects supported will therefore be oriented towards at least one of the following areas: cultural and heritage tourism, family tourism, wine and food tourism, nature tourism or active tourism, and must be directed towards highly profitable segments with significant growth potential.
The concept on which these grants are based is DESTINATION, understood as that geographical area that, having a tourist offer, is a tourist reference or has the potential to be one.
Grants for commercial companies may reach up to 70% of the investment submitted, which must be greater than 90,000 euros.
The criteria to be taken into account for granting the grant include the following:
- The project's ability to energize, promote, incorporate new technologies, modernize and enrich the destination's tourist offering,
- Promoting family tourism.
- Location of the action in municipalities located in areas that, in the two years immediately prior to the call, have been declared as seriously affected by a civil protection emergency,
- Location in municipalities located on The French Way of Saint James.
