Villafranca del Bierzo

In the church of Santiago, the production of an audiovisual experience that will welcome the visitor is planned. A project that, under the theme of hospitality, will be developed with pioneering techniques and that will convert this emblematic temple into an unprecedented immersive projection room.

The collegiate church of Villafranca del Bierzo will host approximately a hundred pieces from all over the country, with artists of the stature of Gregorio Fernández, Luisa Roldán, El Greco, Gil de Siloé, Juan de Juni and Luis Salvador Carmona, who will share space with other artists more recent ones like Venancio Blanco or Vela Zanetti. These works will be distributed in a preamble and four chapters called "stays":

Exposition "Edades del Hombre" 2024

The Junta de Castilla y León, in collaboration with the tourism business sector of the Bierzo region and the Bierzo Wine Route , launches the HOSPITALITAS Exposition "Edades del Hombre" tourist passport, which will allow its users to obtain discounts on integrated tourist services. in said tourist passport, accommodation, restaurants, active tourism activities and others.

This passport can be obtained when purchasing the ticket for the exhibition, as well as at the tourist offices of the Junta de Castilla y León in all the capitals of Castile and León and at the tourist offices in the Bierzo region.

The discounts associated with the Passport are the following:

Restoration

Bars: Special "Hospitalitas" tapa with the drink.
Restaurants: Special complimentary appetizer with the menu.

Accommodations

Only with direct reservation.

In this section you will find all types of establishments (hotel accommodation, Brand "Posadas Reales", Apartments, Homes for Tourist Use, Tourist Hostels, Campsites, Brand "Posadas Reales" and Rural Tourism in general).

Complimentary gift (bottle of Bierzo DOP wine, preserved products from the region such as jams)

In full rental Rural Houses and Apartments a minimum stay of 2 days will be required.

Other Tourist Activities

This heading includes all types of tourist activities (Active Tourism, Visits to Wineries, Museums, guided tours, commerce linked to gastronomy and local crafts...)

Discount of 5% or 10% on the rate of a specific product or service. In wineries that offer wine tourism discounts on the purchase of wine after the tasting.

These discounts cannot be combined with other offers and/or special promotions. Valid during the opening period of the exhibition. Check availability, conditions and reservations directly with tourist services. Other special advantages on the tourist services websites.

The passport will allow you to obtain discounts on the tourist services included in the promotion, but it will not be necessary for all users who request a joint tourist service to present the passport, it will only be necessary to present one.

On a fortnightly basis, the tourist services attached to the passport will receive an email with a short form to obtain information regarding passport users. This form will be done online and anonymously. It is mandatory to send this information.

PASSPORT Stamping

Users will present their PASSPORT at the establishment and in this way they will obtain the discount or advantage.

The establishment, at the user's request, must stamp the PASSPORT in the space reserved for the type of service provided: catering, accommodation, other activities, etc.

Three stamps from establishments of different types : restaurants, accommodation, other activities, will give the right to participate in a raffle .

PASSPORT Awards

First prize: a wine tourism experience in Bierzo for two people (accommodation, food, winery visit, to enjoy until June 2025)

Second prize: a lot with a selection of products from the region (DO wine, preserves, etc.) valued at €200.

These prizes will be offered by the Bierzoenoturismo Wine Route .
