Before reaching the 2nd sluice gate of Ramal de Campos there is Capillas, a village that in the past had a pier in the Canal. Capillas also keeps rests of engineering works that took place while constructing the Canal; examples of it are Arroyal, Parporquero and Villa aqueducts.
Today, only one of the village's 5 existing churches has survived. It is the church of San Agustin, dating from the 14th century, that treasures a Tadeo Ortega organ, which has been completely restored and is used in concerts during the summer months.
Nearby you will find the Laguna de Boada, within the natural area of the La Nava y Campos de Palencia..
