This town nestles on a hillside next to the ancient Silver Route, looking out over the Ricobayo Reservoir on the River Esla. This quaint town stands next to the scant ruins of an ancient fortified settlement, although all that remains are the walls that pilgrims can admire as they make their way along the route.

This town is also the site of the 18th century Church of La Inmaculada.
