This small town boasts a prime location. Once known as ‘Sancta María de los Huertos’, it nestles in a small valley next to the River Medel, sheltered from the cold and true to its name is surrounded by numerous huertos or kitchen gardens.

This town also includes the following sites of interest: the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the Chapel of La Virgen de las Vegas.
