La Vid, in the province of Burgos, leads the river Duero through the territory of Burgos where its wine with the Ribera del Duero Denominación de Origin label holds a strong position among the wines of Castilla y León. A 33-metre tall Churrigueresque belfry shows tourists the way to the Monasterio de la Vid. Its association with wine can be seen in the numerous vines surrounding the monastery and the traditional wine presses that can still be found in the area.
