Villarino de los Aires is the first town in Salamanca reached by the Duero. The river throws up its first surprise here: the salto de Villarino. The river enters the Salamancan Arribes and flows on forming a natural border. Several viewpoints allow visitors to see beautiful countryside and extraordinary views that reach into the neighbouring country, such as the Balcon de La Fava and Teso de San Cristobal. In the town one should visit the Iglesia Parroquial de Santa Maria.
