On Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library, the book presentation of Los anillos del nogal by Ramiro Curieses Ruiz will take place.

In a small town in the Cerrato region of Palencia, a boy lives a fully integrated life in the countryside, exploring the world with boundless curiosity and imagination. However, his daily life is overshadowed by a cold, impersonal, and monotonous school, where learning becomes an exhausting routine.

Everything changes with the arrival of Seneca, a temporary teacher whose methodology, inspired by the Free Institution of Education, opens a new window to knowledge and leaves an indelible mark on the protagonist. Through his open and open teaching, he shows the child that learning can be an exciting adventure and that books can be inseparable companions on the path of discovery.

However, his world undergoes a drastic change when his parents decide to move to the capital. Leaving the town represents a profound anguish for him, marking the painful end of a period in which he has built his identity and begun to glimpse his vocation.

This novel is a tribute to childhood, to its emotional richness and its right to be understood and heard. Through a sensitive and evocative lens, the story immerses us in the transition from childhood to puberty, in the nostalgia of those first changes, and in the indelible mark of those teachers and books that shape our lives forever.
