The Salamanca Museum. Gertrude of Helfta (1256-1302) was a German Benedictine nun who spent her entire life in the convent and produced a series of texts, in a collaborative intellectual environment, that would prove of interest 200 years later in the ideological struggle of the Counter-Reformation.
Through this Baroque painting from the museum's collection, we will discuss the opportunities and limitations of conventual enclosure in the 13th century.
