"Venice, devoured city" , Barcelona, Ed. Cannaregio, (2023),
Presented by Carlota Rodríguez Manzano (technical architect)

The book discusses the pressure of tourism in the city of Venice, which has gradually driven out its residents, and delves into the value of its architectural heritage and construction systems.

Pascual Úbeda de Mingo , a surveyor and Doctor in Sociology in the field of Anthropology, worked as a Professor of Building Rehabilitation at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

His extensive knowledge of the construction sector comes from his professional practice and from his family background. As he himself indicates, he is a builder like his father and grandfather. His work has been recognized for its focus on urban archaeology and the appreciation of built spaces. He is a technical architect committed to the research and preservation of architectural heritage. His books and contributions have enriched the field of architecture and art history. His latest book, Venice; the devoured city (Barcelona, 2023), is further testimony to this.
