The exhibition cycle 'Handwritten Treasures', in its eighth edition, organized by the Jorge Guillén Foundation and the Library of Castilla y León, is dedicated to the Granadan poet Antonio Carvajal (Albolete, Granada, 1943) who is considered one of the great representatives of contemporary lyric poetry who, among many other awards, holds the National Poetry Prize, awarded in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain.

We have selected from its extensive archive the so-called "intervened books" which, contrary to what one might initially think, have not been confiscated from anyone nor have they been seized in an inquisitorial manner to avoid their transcendence, but have been approached by painters who have drastically transformed their appearance, turning each of their pages into true works of art.

The collections Almost a Fantasy, A Celestial Whim, The Wind in the Jasmine, After You Looked at Me, January in the Windows, Extravagant Hierarchy, Glances over the Water, September News, Poems from Granada, Serenade and Knife, Right of Way, Nap at the Lookout, Site of Crossbowmen and Tigers in the Garden are on display here for the first time as a whole. They were written by the following artists: Luis López Ruiz, Pedro Garciarias, Francisco J. Sánchez Montalbán, Javier Avila, Juan Cabrera, Manolo Gil, Ricardo García, Claudio Sánchez Muro, Gonzalo Martín-Calero, Juan Vida, Marite Martín-Vivaldi, José Manuel Darro, Julio Juste, Antonio Moscoso, Jesús Conde, Emilio Peregrina, Alfonso Garrido Espínola, Miguel Rodríguez Acosta and Valentín Albardíaz.
