Elia & Uxía have created Cuentos y cantos de lavanderas (Washerwomen's Stories and Songs) , a show that combines oral narration, theatre and traditional live music around the task of washing clothes by hand, a job that until just a few decades ago was regularly carried out by women in fountains, rivers and laundries.

What was told at these female gatherings, which for some of them were the only opportunity to leave the house without male company? What mark has the work of these women left on popular stories and songs? A journey to another era from our current perspective and a light-hearted tribute to those who cared for us and care for us so much.
