Conference: "Almudena Grandes, literature and social commitment", by Lucía Álvarez

The idea for this conference came about thanks to the Vice-Dean of International Relations at the Complutense University of Madrid, who, very surprised to discover that there was no one specialising in the figure of our 20th-century Galdós, that is, Almudena Grandes, contacted Lucía Álvarez to commission a conference on the author that would focus on her literature and her political commitment.

Lucía Álvarez, actress and director, but in this endeavour above all a friend of Almudena Grandes, accepted the challenge by taking the conference to the author's most personal side.
It will review the writer's beginnings, her literature, her social concerns and all of this, in addition to the academic data necessary for this endeavor, full of anecdotes and curiosities about the author.

In addition, the unpublished short film by Lucía Álvarez based on the story "Amor de madre" by Almudena Grandes, from her book "Modelos de mujer" will be screened.

A unique, unpublished and unrepeatable lecture on this great novelist.

Lucía Álvarez is an actress and director. As an actress she trained at William Layton's Theatrical Laboratory and has worked in numerous films, plays and television series such as "La que se avecina", "Vivir sin permiso" or "El sabor de las margaritas", among others. She has also directed several audiovisual works, short films and documentaries.
The short film based on the story by Almudena Grandes "Amor de madre" has just been released.
