The Brotherhood of San Juan del Monte and the Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language promote on Friday, December 27, at the Apolo Theater in Miranda de Ebro, the representation of the new play The Legend of San Juan del Monte, inspired by the main events of the San Juan festivities and the children's story of the same title published in 2020, with text by Jorge Cortázar and illustrations by Omar Cascón. In this sense, two sessions are scheduled during this day at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The success of this publication in Miranda was the reason that encouraged the authors to develop a theatrical performance, aimed at children and families, which was inspired by this story. The Miranda performing arts academy Backstage has been in charge of the artistic direction of the work, the production and the casting of actors. The Miranda City Council collaborates with this theatrical proposal.

The play is based on this children's tale, which tells the story of three young musicians -Formerio, Felices and Juan- who lived in Miranda delighting their neighbours with the music they created; the arrival of the evil bishop Don Osorio, not very fond of music, forces them to throw their instruments into the Ebro River and the three brothers end up exiled in the mountains, unable to continue bringing joy to the city with their music. A young man -Juanín- who meets Juan El Ermitaño in that environment explains the situation to him and gets his help to be able to return the lost joy to the city.
