Based in Zaragoza, Vehículos Industriales y Agrícolas, SA was probably one of the least known Spanish firms in the automotive industry. Its low production and the fact that it was located far from the main Spanish industrial centres kept VIASA in ostracism.

This work goes a long way towards alleviating this lack of knowledge, presenting an in-depth study of the Zaragoza-based firm with a detailed review of the models produced, few in number, but in a large number of variants, without forgetting the prototypes and studies that never made it past paper.

But it also analyses the history of the Jeep company in Spain prior to the start of production of VIASA, with surprising and hitherto unprecedented findings, as well as the events that culminated in the production of Jeeps in Spain, also unravelling other aspects that have been confusing until now, such as the shareholding structure of the company.

Finally, and now that VIASA has disappeared, we review the return of American Jeeps to our country and the variety of models more or less inspired by them that were sold in Spain.
