Elisa Riera (Barcelona, 1981) studied Graphic Design and Illustration at the Massana School in Barcelona. She immediately began working as a freelance muralist on various projects around Europe. She later moved to New York to work as a character designer for international clients from a variety of sectors. After completing that stage, she returned to Barcelona and took a professional turn specialising in fashion design and consultancy. She currently works between Europe and Asia.
As an author, she publishes her diary in an e-comic on Instagram where she narrates her life adventures and misadventures: @elfuturoesbrillante. Her comic strip "La señora Rosa" won 2nd prize in the 1st National Comic Contest Biblioteca Insular de Gran Canaria and was published in the compilation En corto (Astiberri, 2018). She is also the author of the graphic novels El futuro es luminosa (Astiberri, 2019), Una laowai en Shanghai (Astiberri, 2020) and La estirpe fracaso (Astiberri, 2022).

Virtual Comic Book Reading Club, an online reading club focused on graphic novels, open to anyone who wants to get into or delve deeper into the stories of current comics. It is run collaboratively by students from the Faculty of Communication and Documentation and the public libraries of Salamanca (Casa de las Conchas) and the Regional Library of Murcia.
