The Soria Provincial Council and the Castilian and Leonese Institute of Language are organizing the creative writing workshop El gozo de escribir in Berlanga de Duero , scheduled in two sessions on Saturdays 9 and 23 November from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the auditorium of Berlanga de Duero Town Hall. This workshop, led by the writer Jesús Pérez Saiz, director and professor of the Burgos School of Writers, aims to bring the practice of writing closer to the public in a fun way, encouraging the process of writing to become part of everyone's daily life.

The joy of writing is structured in two sessions, in which the teacher will invite the students to write, with simple and enjoyable exercises, about those things that are important to them; then he will lead the revision of the texts with two main ideas: to highlight the value of what each student has written and to try to clean up, fix and give splendor to what has been written, as the motto of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language (RAE) says.

Aimed at adults who want to tell stories and put them down in writing , this workshop is focused on writing practice and critical reading in order to highlight what should be told and how to do it; what aspects are important when giving life to a piece of writing and what other issues favor communication and connection. The workshop, which is free of charge, is designed for a maximum of 20 people and in order to participate, prior registration is required.

Jesús Pérez is director and professor at the Burgos School of Writers, member of the European Association of Creative Writing Programs (EACWP), a graduate in Law and a master's degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University. He has published the memoir Ricardo. Every journey begins with a voice (Ed. Edeshoras, 2022), the novel The world you hold (Ed. Adeshoras, 2020) and the short story books The ray fish was a woman (Gens Editores, Madrid, 2019) and An itinerary like anyone else's (Publidisa, 2012). Pérez has participated in anthologies such as Lost Bullets (Adamar Editions, Madrid, 2005), has collaborated in the writing and research of The Future of Spain (Taurus) and Europe: globalization and monetary union (Siddharth Mehta), has written conferences and opinion articles for the newspaper El País and has been teaching writing courses since 2002.
