The House of Poetry. Antonio Colinas Cultural Fund was born from the offering that this writer made in his day to his city La Bañeza (Leon), where he was born in 1946.

After more than fifty years of work and publications not only in the field of poetry, but also in other genres, such as narrative, essays, travel books, translation, literary criticism or journalism, the author thought that this work as a writer by vocation and profession, and always from his intellectual independence, should not lose its unity. Also that, paying special attention to a deep and selfless feeling, said repository could be one more factor in safeguarding and disseminating the culture of and in his hometown.
