On the northern slope of Sierra de Guadarrama, in an isolated spot, and at the top of the hill we distinguished in the distance the Hermitage of San Roque. Built in the XVI century, it is a construction of masonry, simple, of square floor, covered in wood and a hipped roof. It has ashlars of granite in the altar frontal, with outer buttress, masonry in the long walls too and blocks in the corners. It is a whole with a protruding cornice in front of which we can see the crosses of the Stations of the Cross.

Your wood flooring has geometrical designs and pottery replacing former gravestones. It is a hermitage with access through double portal and half pointed arch with voussoirs marked for the processions and festivities of Otero de Herreros. It is a well-preserved hermitage by the neighbours of the village. It is also a place of prayer, very special and festive, which keeps all the charm of a past time.
