Amlethsen 5G is a free adaptation created from the dramatic territories of the clown and jester of William Shakespeare's original play, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.

The title of Amlethsen comes from the Norse legend of the same name that Shakespeare possibly knew and that would serve as inspiration for his work.

Amlethsen is a choice that helps us generate a necessary distance from Shakespeare's original work, since we create a show that, although it arises from the story and work of Hamlet, is ultimately a very different artistic proposal that explores the essence tragic aspect of the work through the grotesque madness that the clown and the jester offer us.

What is the show like?

A radio host presents the live broadcast of the Amlethsen 5G musical work, The guinea pig generation, which includes:

+ The concert of the rock band, The Fortimbrás Band, whose songs will sing the story of Hamlet,

+ The representation of the main events of said story; those who, in an atmosphere of madness and disorder, lead the Danish court to annihilation. Each scene becomes a grotesque madness caused by the foolishness of its protagonists:

+ Hamlet's desire to commit suicide on the occasion of his mother's marriage,

+ The encounter with his father's ghost,

+ Ophelia's attempt to discover the source of Hamlet's madness,

+ The representation of the assassination of the king, which will be performed with spectators turned into actors for the occasion,

+ The crazy relationship with Gertrudis, his mother,

+ The final duel in which everyone succumbs, in an act of extravagant self-mutilation.

The songs of The Band of Fortimbrás provide a counterpoint to so much disorder and madness and recount Hamlet's adventures.

Genre: Theater. Style: Comic. Duration: 90 min.

Show included in the programming of Scenic Circuits of Castile and León.
