This route of almost 15 kilometers that runs through the Cerrato Palentino is ideal for enjoying nature both on foot and by bicycle, as well as for observing birds such as the golden eagle, the griffon vulture, the common dove or the orchard bunting, among many others. These species have their natural habitat in the forest masses of holm oaks, gall oaks, junipers or junipers that cover the landscape, in which cereal crops, Mediterranean forests and grasslands-thyme trees alternate, giving shape to one of the agrosystems with the greatest cultural value. of the province of Palencia, in which magnificent examples of shepherds' huts are also preserved as testimony of a secular way of life. It also has some of the best remnants of the original vegetation of the central area of ​​the Northern Plateau.
