Riofrio de Riaza beech wood
On the north side of the beautiful Segovian enclave of Puerto de la Quesera, a few kilometers from the town of Riaza, is located one of the most extraordinary places in the province, the La Pedrosa beech forest.
Discover this magical forest of about 87 hectares in the heart of the Riaza River valley, populated by beech, oak, heather and blueberry trees, which offers a green blanket covered with moss, lichens and roots, perfect for entering nature and contemplating the unique spectacle. of the whimsical shapes of the twisted trunks of the trees in perfect communion with an environment of high ecological value.
The beech forest, which is part of the Natura 2000 Network and is crossed by streams such as Avellano, is easily accessible on foot from the nearby town of Riofrío, preferably during autumn, when the reddish color of the leaves mixes with the green. providing images that look like a fairy tale.
