Presented as a historical review in a humorous way of some of the most representative events and characters in the history of the Kingdom of Castile and León between the 9th and 16th centuries , and taking as a reference current political and social events that surround us.

Ancha es Castilla can be defined as an extravagant and humorous journey through both our present and our history as a Community.

Close to narrative forms more typical of television and microtheater , Ancha es Castilla extrapolates in a radical and very fun way situations from our present and current political, social and cultural events. To do so, the characters and historical events shown in this fun tragicomedy are exposed and presented from a perspective far from the clichés that have characterized them until now, forming a theatrical show that we could describe as: The craziest story ever told of Castile and León .

SYNOPSIS

Queen Juana I of Castile, who will be known as Juana la Loca, accompanied by her jester Horacio and Casilda, the only maid and servant she has been allowed to have, is locked up in the Castle of Tordesillas. Bored with such a sad and dramatic situation, the queen will ask her jester to entertain her by reminding her of the most significant moments that have shaped the history of her kingdom. Horacio, using his great impudence and sharp gaze full of humor and irony, will agree to do so by choosing such significant moments and characters from our past as: Fernán González, El Cid, the Catholic Monarchs or institutions as powerful as the Holy Office.

In this way, before the disturbed imagination of the queen, a series of funny scenes full of humor and nonsense will come to life until the moment when Padilla, Bravo and Maldonado (Los Comuneros) appear at her castle in order to ask Juana Let him lead his revolt and offer him the crown of Castile again.
