Egypt. Valley of the Kings, November 1922. The day his patron, Lord Carnarvon, informed him of the withdrawal of financial support and the closure of the excavation, archaeologist Howard Carter, with the unique help of a water carrier from the valley, discovered a new tomb, perhaps the one he most expected, the only one from the 18th dynasty not found until then, that of Tutankhamun. Although they must notify the authorities before entering, they cannot resist the temptation to check if it is the tomb of the mysterious pharaoh, and sneak into his rooms. There they confirm their great discovery, they are in the tomb of the child pharaoh. But, in addition to discovering wonderful things , they get into a monumental mess. They accidentally activate a mysterious mechanism and open a passage to the underworld. There appears the mummy of Tutankhamun who has not been able to pass the judgment of Osiris due to a perverse trap, someone stole his heart when he was embalmed, and, instead of in the fields of Aaru (the Egyptian paradise), he spends his eternity pursued by the monster Ammyt. In order to solve this dangerous injustice, the archaeologist and the water bearer will let the goddess Hathor, protector of children, take them to the past to try to recover the stolen heart.
The show has a medium-large and very dynamic set that goes from representing the valley of the kings or Tutankhamun's tomb, to various settings of ancient Egypt. In the various environments, character-actors and character-puppets interact to intensify the dimension and fantastic possibilities of the plot without losing the feeling of authenticity of the scenes. The funny adventures of the protagonists invite reflection on authority and ambition, the value of perseverance, ingenuity and collaboration. The entire show highlights the importance of archaeological heritage and research to know, as accurately as possible, our history.
