Church of San Pedro
Robust building made of sandstone blocks, a perfect example of the Ávila Romanesque style. There is a magnificent Cistercian rose window in the main façade.
The Catholic Monarchs and Carlos I pledged allegiance to the law-code of Castile before the façade of this church. Preceded by an open atrium, the church has a sober facade with simple archivolts, columns and plain capitals, with an interesting rose window. It has a Romanesque triple apse and, inside, the transition towards the Gothic style culminates at the ribbed dome. It is, so to speak, a late version of the Iglesia de San Vicente.
