The Ponferrada Railway Museum is located in the grounds of the old station of the Minero Siderurgica de Ponferrada, aimed at the exploitation of coal reserves of the basins of El Bierzo and Laciana.

The museum is built around the Memory of coal based on the history of the Railroad Ponferrada - Villablino and the collection of steam locomotives. In addition to its library, it is also active in the organization of various cultural activities and of railway dissemination.
