If we go from Olleros de Pisuerga, we find the ruins of the ancient Civitas Maggaviensium (Cilda Mount), ancient Maggaviense settlement, an already mentioned group of Cantabria in the remains of the year 14 AC.

It is an important and strategic indigenous village occupied by the Romans since the wars of Cantabria, from the 26 to the 25 BC. Lately its inhabitants moved to the plain, to Santa Maria de Mave, but in the IV century AC they occupied again the Monte Cilda. Due to the instability prevailing at the time, it was already in the V century AC, surrounded by walls.

When to visit it?

Observations: Castro de Monte Cildá (1st century BC) important archaeological remains have been located there, such as remains of Cantabrian and Roman settlements.
