The Las Ánimas festival is celebrated in Soria on November 1 and has been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest on March 15, 2023.

It arose in 1986 as a literary activity linked to the Soria School for Adults, which consisted of climbing the so-called Monte de las Ánimas, near Soria, to read the legend of Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. Since 2013, the reading has been moved to the current location, next to the Duero River and the medieval wall, which, artistically decorated, serves as an evocative backdrop for reading the legend. On the podium, a reader interprets the legend in a powerful voice. The reading is accompanied by sounds that reinforce the different passages of the story: howling of wolves, bells, the creaking of footsteps on the wood, the wind, creaking doors... give the show a unique, experiential character, where more than one chill runs through the back of the spectators, who attend the event in sepulchral silence.
