The declaration of the Set of Bodegas de Torquemada (Palencia) as Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of ethnological set, implies the recognition of the relevance of the property in its entirety –as a whole– made up of both material and immaterial values.

The uniqueness of the Bodegas de Torquemada is determined by its own configuration. As there is no nearby hill for its location, the wineries are developed on a flat terrain to the west of the urban area, so to achieve optimum temperature and humidity for winemaking, the winery is configured with a large unevenness, which which constitutes one of its most characteristic features. They have a unique urban planning, characterized by rectilinear streets, almost parallel, that make up a town of wineries.
