Church of San Cristobal
Although the Renaissance had a tremendous reception in Spanish arts, the foundation of the Mudejar tradition was too solid to be diluted quickly. Both styles were destined to understand each other during the 16th century, creating a kind of combination like the one we find in the armor of the nave of the church of San Cristóbal de Entreviñas.
The Renaissance influence can be seen in the absence of polychromes and in its almizate or horizontal panel, decorated with hexagonal paneling similar to those designed by the Italian Sebastián Serlio for book IV of his treatise on architecture. For the inclined panels, however, a type of lacework derived from the starting of eight-pointed loop wheels was used, which completed this unique stylistic fusion.
